Appointments

Online appointments are now available. You will need to contact reception to get access for this service. If you are already using SystmOnline for ordering prescriptions, you can use this service by simply logging in to your account.

To make an appointment please ring 01484 842652.  In order for the clinician to prioritise calls the receptionist will require some details of your problem.

steth_pills_diaryPlease note, one patient per appointment. You may see any doctor at either of our sites.

Urgent cases will always be accommodated. Requests for urgent appointments will be triaged by a doctor first. The doctor will speak to you on the same day to assess the urgency, arrange to see you or make alternative arrangements with another practice team member. Doctor also offers telephone advice and sometimes prescribes medication as necessary.

If the problem becomes more urgent before the clinician has returned your call then you should ring the surgery again.

Appointments are usually 10 minutes, but if you feel your problem will take longer, please request a 20 minute appointment.

For patients who are unable to attend the surgery to see a doctor or nurse during standard office hours, we run an extended hours clinic on a Thursday morning at Marsden. You can choose to see either a nurse or doctor in these clinics. Please speak to the receptionist if you would like to book an appointment.

Emergency Care Practitioner and Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with an Emergency Care Practitioner or Practice Nurse rather than a doctor. These clinicians are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

Telephone Consultations

For an increasing number of conditions and follow up you may be able to speak to a Doctor on the telephone rather than needing to make an appointment. Ongoing conditions not requiring examination may also be dealt with over the telephone.

Patients can make a telephone appointment by speaking to a member of the Reception team.

Chaperones

We operate a chaperone policy and all patients are free to request a chaperone who should be a trained person. However, if a clinician is unavailable to chaperone at the time of your appointment, your GP or nurse will offer you the choice of either having a non-clinical chaperone (i.e. a receptionist) or making another appointment.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
